Carole Radziwill: How I Am On Camera Is How I Am Off Camera

Posted: Updated:

"Last season I think I cried...this season I scream and I must say screaming is really underrated."

Carole Radziwill is a busy woman. Besides shooting the new season of "The Real Housewives of New York", she's also promoting her new book "The Widow's Guide to Sex and Dating". It's about a woman who decides to get back into the dating world after her husband dies...something Carole is all too familiar with.

"I wanted to write it, a book about sex and dating, in a more comedic way using my feelings a s a widow and I wasn't there yet. I started writing this ten years after my husband died and I'd already found by sense of humor about the absurdity of life and death."

That sense of humor is what Carole brings to her show, even if at times she's the only one laughing at herself.

"I feel like sometimes I'm on a comedy and everyone else is on a drama....when I committed to do the show, I committed to do it honest. My life's not perfect, I'm not pretending to be anything I'm not."

Carole will be signing copies of her book this Friday at Book Soup in West Hollywood...it starts at seven.

Season six of The Real Housewives of New York premieres on Bravo March 11th.

Fun facts about Carole Radziwill (Source: Wikipedia)

1.) Radziwill began her news career at ABC in New York in 1986 as an intern in postproduction for 20/20, a news magazine show. She was later assigned to "Close Up" as a production secretary. In 2003, during the War on Afghanistan, she spent six weeks in Khandahar, embedded with an infantry unit of the 101st Airborne Division. She produced segments for an ABC-TV show called Profiles From the Frontline. She has won several awards, including three Emmys, one for a story she produced on land mines in Cambodia, and a Peabody. .

3.) After her husband's death, Radziwill left ABC News to write a memoir about her childhood, her career at ABC News, as well as her effort to manage her husband's cancer. A review of the book in the New York Times called it a "bittersweet account" that emphasized "graciousness over disclosure".
