TAMPA (FOX 13) -

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' new uniforms were unveiled Monday morning, though the reaction on social media was as snarky as ever.

The new uni features dark shoulders and dark pants, with more orange and red in the jersey. The alternate look includes a red torso instead of white. Both versions feature digital-style numbering.

Fans should also notice a little more shine from these uniforms. The helmet facemask, unveiled last month, is chrome, and the numbers have a reflective chrome border -- both are firsts for the league.

The team spent two years working with league partner Nike to research and develop the new look, co-chairman Edward Glazer said. The announcement on the team's site was full of marketing buzzwords hyping the "refreshed" look.

"The uniform is a completely integrated system of dress with a new design that honors the Buccaneers' rich tradition while boldly bringing the team into the future through a modern industrial design aesthetic," the announcement states.

On social media, though, complaints about the new look seemed to far outweigh compliments. Many users said that the new uniform looked too similar to the team's division rivals.

"Crappy, looks like Atlanta Falcon uniforms," one Twitter user observed.

"They spent a lot of time, effort, and money for not very much in return. Not impressed at all," a Facebook user complained.

"It's not April Fool's, right?" another Twitter user asked.

And while there were a few fans of the new look speaking up, several fans took the opportunity to point out that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

"I don't care if they wear their pink tutu," another Facebook user exclaimed. "They need to focus on winning more than what they wear."
