Murder charges in Snelling Ave. shooting of St. Louis Park man

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Murder charges were filed Friday against a Hopkins, Minn. man in the shooting death of Adrian Carr last Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis.

Carr, 35, of St. Louis Park, Minn., had been dropped off by a friend at the intersection of Snelling Ave. and 34th Ave. S. to get some belongings from his parked car. According to the charges, shots were fired from a black car and Carr was shot in the head.

On Monday, Feb. 24, Minneapolis police arrested 35-year-old Shane McPike for the murder of Adrian Carr. McPike was carrying keys to the black car spotted on surveillance video before the shooting, and was also carrying two cell phones that were in the area at the time of the shooting.

McPike is charged with second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
