The Motor City Madman delivered a few choice words for Democrats in his hometown.

Ted Nugent, who now lives in Texas, slammed Detroit during a campaign stop for the state's Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott.

Wendy Davis, a Democrat, is like to face Abbott in the general election.

"I left Detroit because the liberal Democrats engineered the absolute suicide of this fantastic city with their horrific anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-independence agenda," said Nugent.

"We had a Wendy Davis in Detroit. We had a Wendy Davis in Michigan. Her name was Jennifer Granholm. And today, Detroit is an embarrassment. It is a cesspool. There is a declaration of dependence in Detroit."

Democrats in Texas have called the team-up of Nugent and Abbott "repulsive."
