Latest Storm Bringing More Snow To Pa.

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A storm is expected to drop several inches of snow on the East Coast before rain and warmer temperatures give residents a reprieve from shoveling and shivering.

The National Weather service predicts that many East Coast states will see 3 to 6 inches of snow Tuesday after a storm moves in overnight from the Great Lakes and through the Mid-Atlantic. The accumulation could complicate morning and late afternoon commutes. There also could be rain, sleet or a snow-rain mixture.

FOX 29's Dawn Timmeney was in East Mt. Airy. There is snow on the ground, snow mounds everywhere from previous storms, and now there are fewer and fewer places to put the new snow. In addition, under all of it is ice from previous storms. How to maneuver out of your neighborhood onto the main roads? That's this morning's challenge.

FOX 29's Jenni Joyce was in Doylestown, Pa. Like other parts of Pa., side streets and back roads are not plowed, so commuters must be careful.

FOX 29's Karen Hepp was in Somerton, where it was very snow-covered. She was in a neighborhood that rarely sees plows go through. However, Karen had a little conversation with a Good Day fan who had all the energy in the world and definitely brightened everyone's snow days. Check out the video above.

Trash pickup will be delayed today in Philadelphia. All trash being picked up today will be postponed a week. Expect trash pickup to occur normally the next few days.

Last Wednesday, snow, sleet and ice bombarded the Southeast and brought its ferocity into the East Coast a day later.

Recent storms have been blamed for 25 deaths.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
