SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Backers of a minimum wage hike for Michigan now want a bigger proposed increase.

We told you last week, the "Raise Michigan" campaign wanted to ask voters to increase the rate from $7.40 to $9.50 hour.

Now, the campaign says it wants to raise the minimum wage even higher, to $10.10 an hour.

We're told, the Michigan Board of Canvassers plans to review the petition, this Wednesday.

If approved, supporters plan to collect 258-thousand signatures, needed to put the proposal on the November ballot.
