ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (KMSP) -

A 2-year-old boy who was abducted by his father early Sunday morning was found safe in Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon.

Markay Charleston, 33, allegedly broke into the boy's mother's St. Louis Park home and assaulted her before taking the boy, Markay Charleston Junior, around 1 a.m.

Just before 2 p.m., a Wisconsin state trooper saw the suspect vehicle heading westbound on I-94 near Lake Delton. The toddler was found uninjured and napping in the back of the car. Charleston was taken to the Sauk County jail without incident.

He does not have custody of the toddler. Police made arrangements to reunite the toddler with his mother.
