Pandora to serve political ads based on music choices

Posted: Updated:

Pandora internet radio will start streaming political ads to its users based on their music choices, the Wall Street Journal reports.

HOW IT WORKS

Pandora will match election results by ZIP code with the musical preferences of Pandora users in the same ZIP code.

For instance, if you like Jay-Z, you're more likely to be a Democrat, but if you like Dolly Parton you're more likely to be a Republican. Bruce Springsteen fans are split, but what about Daft Punk, Miles Davis and Bob Marley?
