DETROIT (WJBK) -

A Detroit man whose daughter was accidentally killed by police during a raid has been convicted of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a teenager.

Charles Jones was accused of providing a gun that was used in the death of 17-year-old Je'Rean Blake, who was killed outside a Detroit store in 2010.

Co-defendant Chauncey Owens was also found guilty of first-degree murder.

Prosecutors say Owens got upset at Blake for giving him a dirty look, left the store, got a gun from Jones, returned and shot Blake.

This was that act that led to the death of 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones, who was shot by a police officer days later as she slept on a couch. Police had stormed the home looking for Owens.

That officer's first manslaughter trial ended in a hung jury. Prosecutor's plan to retry him later this year.

Initially, Owens planned to testify against Jones that he gave him the gun that killed Blake. He withdrew the plea and Jones was eventually acquitted of the weapons charges.

Both men will be sentenced in March.
