Maybe you know exactly how much a gallon of gas costs right now, but do you know your own blood sugar level? Doctors say there are a certain five numbers we need to know.

Researchers at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center asked people across the country if they knew what a healthy body mass index, or BMI, is.

"With that survey, we were actually able to see that two out of three people do not know what their body mass index means even,"  says Dr. Martha Gulati, cardiologist at Ohio State University.

A healthy BMI is under 25. You can use a free online calculator to find your BMI.

You should also know your waist size around your belly button. For women that number should be less than 35 inches, and less than 40 for men.

Also, know your blood pressure.

"A normal blood pressure is actually with a top number that we call systolic to be under 120, and the lower number called diastolic to be under 80," says Gulati.

Your blood sugar should be under 100, and cholesterol under 200.
