Planes on the tarmac at MSP Airport on Feb. 3, 2014
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
The Seattle Seahawks team plane made an unexpected landing in Minneapolis on Monday, delaying the return of the Super Bowl champions to the Pacific Northwest.
Local news reports from Seattle said the Minneapolis stop was for a crew change and deicing. The Delta Air Lines plane arrived at MSP shortly after 4 p.m. CT.
The Seahawks plane is expected to return to Seattle by 6:30 p.m. PT. Unlike the team's departure, there will be no reserved area for fans to line up near SeaTac Airport or at the team's training facility for their arrival.
A victory parade is planned for 11 a.m. PT Wednesday in downtown Seattle.
