Cops bust trio in McHenry County for selling heroin, pills

SPRING GROVE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Three women were arrested Thursday after police seized heroin, cash, drug paraphernalia, a vehicle and prescription narcotics during a raid of a home in far northwest suburban Spring Grove.

Serena M. Mee, 39, Brenda S. Haseman, 59, and Bridget A. Murphy, 38 were each charged with multiple felonies, including unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and endangering the life of a child, according to a release from the McHenry County Sheriff's office.

The arrests came after the McHenry County Sheriff's Task Force made multiple undercover buys from the women over the course of a month, according to a release for the sheriff's office.

On Friday, U.S. Marshalls and local law enforcement executed a search warrant on the three women in the 8000 block of East Street in Spring Grove. Authorities seized 13.7 grams of heroin, 27 Xanax pills, 10 methylphenidate hydrochloride pills -- also known as Ritalin -- drug paraphernalia, $521 in cash and a 2001 GMC Jimmy, the release said.

The street value of the drugs seized was estimated at $1,180, police said.

Mee, of the 1900 block of Orchard Beach in McHenry, was charged with:

-unlawful calculated criminal drug conspiracy,

-three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000-feet of a school,

-three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance,

-four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Her bond was set at $350,000 Friday, police said.

Haseman, of the 8000 block of East Street in Spring Grove, was charged with:

-unlawful calculated criminal drug conspiracy,

-two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000-feet of a school,

-three counts of three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance,

-unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia

-unlawful possession of syringes.

Her bond was set at $300,000 Friday, the release said.

Murphy, also of the 8000 block of East Street, was charged with:

-unlawful calculated criminal drug conspiracy,

-unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000-feet of a school,

-two counts of possession of a controlled substance

-endangering the life and health of a child.

Murphy's bond was set at $150,000, police said.

The three are scheduled to appear in court again Feb. 4.
