Thanks to a record daily snowfall at MSP International of 6.4" on Thursday, we are ahead of average for snowfall so far this winter season. Meteorological winter is technically the months of December, January and February. Wow, if we could be so lucky to have a winter season that short. In reality our chance for snow here in the Twin Cities starts as early as September and lasts through May. At least we can say that we have passed the half way point.
Below is a look at what is average through January and what we have seen for flakes through January.
If you're keeping track, and I know you are, below is a breakdown of what is average per month. Also, a list of what we have seen each month. Now you know.
We would love to see your weather photos! Email them to Photos@Fox9.com . Also I hope you will LIKE my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/#!/SteveFrazierFox9Kmsp and follow me on Twitter at @FrazierFox9. Thanks for watching! FRAZIER
