Friday power outage hit 9,000 in Twin Cities

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (KMSP) -

A Friday morning power outage affected more than 9,200 Xcel Energy customers in the Twin Cities.

The outage affected homes, businesses and traffic signals in parts of Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Coon Rapids, Maple Grove and Osseo.

Xcel Energy said the outage was caused by a blown fuse at a substation. Power was restored to all customers by 8 a.m.
