"There's no one else fulfilling this large hole in service in Detroit, and it would break our hearts to have to stop and have to turn families away."

Treger Strasberg and her team of designers started Humble Design five years ago, furnishing a home for one family every six weeks for free. But lately they've had to do a lot more and now it's costing them.

"Because the need is so great we ramped up to five families a week and it costs us so much extra money to bring the furniture down to the houses at no cost to the recently homeless families so we're in danger right now of closing our doors because our funds are so low," says Strasberg.

Humble Design has player a role in several stories FOX 2 has covered.

So far they've helped 352 families. They need more beds but mostly they need money for gasoline and for the movers to get all of these items delivered.

"I get to see the faces of the kids who come home from school and get into bed, and I get to see the moms just feel relief that tomorrow's not going to be as hard as it is today. and I am hoping that the community can help us," says Strasberg.
