Winter weather advisory: Snow, wind and bitter cold in the forecast

Weather will be the story over the next 48 hours as snowfall Saturday night in the 2-3 inch range turn into 25 mile per hour winds take over causing significant blowing and drifting in the metro with whiteout conditions expected for much of western and southern reaches of the state. Winds are expected to fall Monday morning but frigid air and subzero temperatures are expected Sunday through Wednesday morning with wind chills of 40 to 50 below Monday and the first half of Tuesday.
