Man with autism, 31, missing from South Chicago

Police are searching for an autistic man who went missing from the South Chicago neighborhood Wednesday.

Tommy Williams, 31, is missing from the area near 86th Street and Exchange Avenue, according to a missing person alert issued by Area South detectives.

Williams has a very limited speaking ability and has been known to walk long distances, the alert said.

He is described as a 5-foot-9, 132-pound black man with brown eyes, black hair and a light complexion, according to the alert. He was last seen wearing a green winter coat, a black and brown hat and brown shoes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact detectives at (312) 747-8274.
