The run-up to the Super Bowl is filled with great stories, and this one is extra special.
Seattle Seahawk Derrick Coleman is the first legally deaf offensive player in NFL history. His story was recently highlighted in a moving Duracell commercial.
FOX Sports reports Coleman got a letter from a young fan who is also hearing-impaired, which was posted on Twitter by her father, Jake Kovalcik, via @JakeIsMobile:
"@Seahawks @DC2forlife you've inspired my little girls in a way I never could. THANK YOU! #Seahawks #SuperBowlXLVIII"
Kovalcik's daughter wrote that she knows how Coleman feels, and encouraged him to try his best. She also pointed out some of the other things they have in common - including their love for sports.
Coleman's Seahawks will take on the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2, right here on FOX 32. We'll have a four-hour pregame show from 1-5 p.m. on Feb. 2. Don't forget to tune in! Kickoff will be at 5:25 p.m.
