But Guzman's arrest is raising some serious questions. One of which, is this the real El Chapo? The other is how were police able to arrest him without a single shot being fired. We talked with a filmmaker whose new document hopes to answer some of those questions.

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

Obesity is an epidemic in this country and it can sneak up on you.  A few pounds of weight gain a year can land you with serious health problems.

More family pets are turning up obese right along with their owners.

On Monday, the Arizona Humane Society adopted out a dog that came in to the shelter morbidly obese -- barely able to walk.

After some work to get the little girl in shape, 3-year-old Chiquita found a permanent home.

Chiquita is feeling pretty fit even though she still has some weight to lose.  She's lost a third of her body weight since summer when she was dropped off at the shelter overweight and without a home.

"She could barely walk around, let alone jump up a sidewalk curb.  It was really sad to watch," said Ashleigh Goebel of the Arizona Humane Society.

So out of shape, she couldn't be adopted out.

"Her belly was dragging on the ground and she has these short little legs.  So watching her try to move around was sad.. she couldn't get around at all," said Goebel.

Thanks to a foster family who started her on a diet and lots of exercise, she's dropped 16 pounds.

"She's been doing water therapy and water aerobics and her foster family was so dedicated."

Obesity in pets is more common than you might think.

"We'd like to call it the fat gap phenomenon, where pets are actually obese, but they refuse to acknowledge that.  About 52 percent of dogs are obese and 58 percent of cats are obese in the U.S." said Goebel.

Monday was Chiquita's lucky day.  They drew a name to chose the forever home for this slimmed down dog and Sharon Leary is this pup's new pal.

She likes Chiquita's personality.

"Very gentle.  I'm excited to get her home."

Sharon says she plans to keep Chiquita on a diet and keep her in shape.

The Welsh Corgi still needs to drop some weight, but is on the right path and everyone says Chiquita is so much happier now that she can move around.
