The Orlando Magic took some time off Saturday to help refurbish a basketball court for kids in Orlando's Pine Hills neighborhood.
Mollie Ray Elementary School children were in for a surprise when former Magic basketball players came by and renovated their outdoor basketball court.
"It's a big deal for kids, you want them to come out and play and you want them to have something to play on," Magic Guard Jameer Nelson said.
Daren Edouard, a Mollie Ray student, is excited about his new basketball court.
"It feels good that we have a new basketball court because we had the old court for a lot of years, so it feels good to enjoy myself and have a new basketball court," Edouard said.
With a better court, Nelson believes that students like Edouard will have a better chance at falling in love with the sport.
"This makes you want to play. This makes you want to come out here and work on your skills. Bring people here to play and show off what you have in your neighborhood," Nelson said.
