Bomb threat closes Esko schools; dog sweep in progress

ESKO, Minn. (KMSP) -

Shortly after noon on Tuesday, all K-12 students were evacuated to a nearby church following a written bomb threat that led law enforcement to close all buildings and conduct a sweep.

All students are safe and accounted for at St. Matthews Church, and bomb detection dogs are currently searching the property.

The written threat was located in the Esko School at 12:25 p.m. , and officers from the following areas and agencies responded:

- Carlton County Sheriff's Office
- Cloquet Police Department
- Esko Fire Department
- FBI
- Minnesota State Patrol
- Thompson Township

All school buildings will remain closed until further notice.
