CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago Bears' wide receiver, Alshon Jeffery, is among the top five finalists for the VIZIO Top Value Performer award.

The award is given to an NFL player whose on-field performance most exceeds the value of their contract.

The winner is decided strictly by fan votes.

Fans can vote online, or by tweeting using their player's handle and custom TVP hashtag.

Voting is open now through Friday, Jan. 17.

The other finalists include Julius Thomas, tight end for the Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, Giovani Bernard, running back for the Cincinnati Bengals and Zac Stacy, running back for the St. Louis Rams.

Jeffery's Twitter handle is @AJJeffery1 and his hashtag is #TVPAlshonJeffery.

Other players handles and hashtags can be found on the website.

Last year's award was given to Russell Wilson.

Given their history, last season sure was an odd one for the Chicago Bears. Just as they finally managed to get things right on offense, their defense pulled off quite a disappearing act. Well, it's back. At least, the Bears think it's back.

The Chicago Bears know who's backing up starting quarterback Jay Cutler. Now they'd like to know their defense is backing up their offense.
