FOX 29 Legal Analyst Explains Latest In Christie Scandal

Posted: Updated:

FOX 29 Legal Analyst was on Good Day to explain the latest legal developments in the Christie Bridge-gate scandal.

"Today, there will be subpoenas issued," Rothweiler said. "Bridget Kelly will be subpoenaed today."

However, the subpoena power expires tomorrow, which means that the legislature will have to get together again on Thursday to extend the subpoenas power of the transportation committee.

Rothweiler predicts that Kelly will definitely take the 5th amendment when asked questions, just like David Wildstein did. Both Wildstein and Kelly are looking for immunity. There will be some kind of deal made eventually, Rothweiler said.

It will be interesting to find out what conversations occurred in the Governor's office prior to the emails, Rothweiler said. The bottom line, said, Rothweiler, some deal will be made, and more information will come out. He predicts that Kelly will probably eventually be offered immunity in exchange for giving some information because she has four minor kids and definitely does not want to spend time in jail.
