24 year-old Dustin Kalbrenner remains in very critical condition at a valley hospital after a hit and run accident days after Christmas.
"He was getting ready to become a peer counselor for Stand Up for Kids because he would give you the shirt off his back" said Kalbrenner's aunt Christine Simon-Blacknore.
Tempe Police holding a press conference Thursday with Dustin's aunt to find the suspect and passenger in the sport utility vehicle.
"He's touched peoples lives and I need help, we need help to find the driver of this vehicle" said Christine.
The victim was riding his skateboard when he was hit by an SUV at the corner of Ash & University on December 27th two days after Christmas.
"He was coming, he was going to go play some video games with friends" said Christine.
Surveillance footage of the accident shows Dustin on his skateboard as well as the suspects silver Nissan X-Terra SUV. Police want to find that driver and the passenger. Officers think they both know about the hit and run crash.
His aunt has a message for them. "I would say please come forward because if this was your family member or friend, brother, or sister. How can you live with yourself knowing you did something."
The SUV last seen heading south on Farmer from University. Dustin's aunt says he remains in extremely critical condition, their world is shattered.
"Not knowing if and when he's gonna wake up... I don't know where this road is gonna take him now and I'm begging for your help to help police find the driver to come forward please" said Christine.
