Delta to improve overhead bins, seats, bathrooms on 225 aircraft

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Delta Air Lines announced it will invest $770 million in improvements for 225 domestic aircraft through 2016 -- that's 30 percent of Delta's fleet.

Interiors of 225 Boeing 757-200, 737-800, Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft will have power seats, adjustable headrests, updated bathrooms, more overhead bin space, among other improvements.

757-200 AIRCRAFT IMPROVEMENTS

-In-seat video
-Satellite TV
-Power access for all passengers
-New galleys
-Updated LED cabin lighting
-New bathrooms
-Larger overhead bins

49 will have:
-20 first-class seats
-29 economy comfort seats
-150 economy seats

7 will have:
-18 first-class seats
-28 economy comfort seats
-151 economy seats

737-800 AIRCRAFT IMPROVEMENTS

-In-seat video
-Satellite TV
-New LED cabin lighting
-Updated bathrooms

-16 first-class seats
-18 economy comfort seats
-126 economy seats

A319, A320 AIRCRAFT IMPROVEMENTS

-New seats in both first class and economy cabins
-In-seat power
-New space-saving galleys
-New lavatories
-New larger-capacity overhead bins with an average increase of 60 percent more carry-on baggage space
-Updated LED lighting systems
-New cabin interiors

A319 will include:
-12 first-class seats
-18 economy comfort seats
-102 economy seats

A320 will include
-16 first-class seats
-18 economy comfort seats
-126 economy seats
