Police Seek Man Who Sexually Assaulted Girl in Bathroom - Photo Released

Posted: Updated:

Investigators are looking for a man they believe is a local transient. They describe him as being 18 to 20 years-old, about 5 foot 8 and weighing 150 pounds. Sgt. Brian Hudson says on New Year's Day, at the Denny's in the 37,000 block of 47th Street East in Palmdale, "He enters the restaurant. He asks the hostess where the rest room is at. He then proceeds to the women's restroom." Once inside investigators say he sees a 10 year old girl exiting a stall and sexually assaults her. "The assault is fortunately interrupted," says Hudson, "By a patron who also enters the restroom." At that point the suspect takes off. As he runs from the Denny's the manager chases, but loses the man during the foot pursuit.

Hudson says the man appears to live locally on the street. Says Hudson, "Talking to people at several business establishments he's been seen panhandling."

As for the little girl Hudson says "Considering the circumstances and what she's been through she's doing well."

Hudson adds investigators have exhausted their leads so now they want the public's help. He says if you know anything about the man call the Sheriffs Department. Bottom line, says Hudson, "We consider him to be a very dangerous person. He committed a very bold act."

He's a white male, walks with a noticeable limp and has blonde hair.

Clippers owner Donald Sterling repeatedly consented to his wife selling the Clippers while facing the prospect of being stripped of the team by the NBA, then suddenly changed his mind and disregarded the terms of the family trust, Shelly Sterling's attorney told a judge today.
Shelly Sterling acted properly in removing her husband as a director of the family trust that owns the Los Angeles Clippers, and she has the authority to sell the team despite Donald Sterling's objections, a judge tentatively ruled on Monday.
