Man Arrested For Trying To Sell Brains On Ebay

Posted: Updated:

If he only had a brain. Twenty-one-year-old David Charles of Indianapolis, Indiana is arrested on theft charges.

After admitting to stealing several jars full of human brain from the Indiana Medical History Museum and trying to sell them online, Charles posted incriminating evidence on Facebook.

Nonetheless, officials only put the pieces of the theft together after receiving a tip from a man in San Diego who saw the brains for sale on e-bay. Charles was arrested during a police sting when an undercover officer looked to buy the brains at a local Dairy Queen.

"It's very bizarre," remarked an officer handling the case. "It's one of those things that you just shake your head at."

"This consumer did his due diligence. Looked and saw that they were possibly stolen, contacted us. He was trying to sell six jars of human brain matter for six hundred or so dollars, plus I think it was seventy dollars shipping and handling," said police.

Charles is out on bail, but a pre-trial hearing is set for January 13th.
