ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Minnesota Department of Health reports 71 people were hospitalized with the flu last week -- nearly twice the number reported the week before.

Flu season typically peaks in late January or early February.

Health officials say the H1N1 strain is the most common this year. H1N1 is covered in this year's flu vaccine, which is widely available.
