After being bought by Vail Resorts, Minnesota's own Afton Alps has received a $10 million upgrade, and it's been a huge hit with skiers and snowboarders alike this winter.
That $10 million went toward renovation for base area facilities, a snowmaking system and a new terrain park.
Afton has 300 skiable acres, 50 trails, 18 lifts and four terrain parks. Now that Afton is owned by Vail Resorts, skiers in the Midwest can purchase season passes that also grant access to epic skiing out west: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Canyons, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirwood and Mt. Brighton.
