1 Walgreens, 4 SuperAmerica stores robbed in S. Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Five south Minneapolis businesses were robbed at gunpoint between 4 and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Minneapolis police said the suspect appears to be the same person in each of the robberies -- one at Walgreens, four at SuperAmerica stations.

The suspect made off with cash from both venues and a small amount of narcotics from Walgreens.

ROBBERY DETAILS

The robberies were reported in the following order:

1. SuperAmerica at 6000 Portland Avenue South
2. Walgreens at 2426 Hennepin Avenue
3. SuperAmerica at 2501 Hennepin Avenue
4. SuperAmerica at 2200 Lyndale Avenue
5. SuperAmerica at 4320 E. Lake Street

SUSPECT INFORMATION

The suspect is described as a heavy-set black male, 20 – 30 years old, dressed in all black with a black knit hat and a black face mask covering the lower portion of his face. In at least two of the robberies he was wearing glasses. He showed a black semi-automatic handgun in each of the robberies.
