Meet Genevieve Gorder From HGTV, Right Here In Santa Monica

Posted: Updated:

"The dirty, the struggle, all the gross stuff..." That's Genevieve Gorder talking about the side of interior design most people don't see on TV...and what she promises will be a big part of her new show.

"Genevieve's Renovation" will debut next year on HGTV and she talked about how this show will break new ground by showing the imperfection that happens when striving for perfection.

"We're trying to figure out how to renovate design television in general, how do we show design in a different way, so I'm going inward showing you the real process, not just the A and the Z, but the B through Y, the struggle."

Because the show is all about Genevieve's work on her new home, she says it was a much different experience to be the client.

"My empathy factor has gone up substantially because it's, it's so incredibly emotional and tough, and I wanna show that. That's what I wanted to see. Design sometimes comes off too perfect when we show it on television and it's anything but."

Genevieve also talked about how fans can meet her this weekend in Santa Monica at the HGTV Holiday House.

HGTV and Santa Monica Place ring in the holidays from November 22 through January 1. Shoppers will enjoy visits with Santa, nightly festive holiday light shows at the HGTV Holiday House, free demonstrations, engaging activities and hangouts with popular HGTV talent.
