A 20-year-old man was arrested Thursday after allegedly threatening the life of an elementary school student in Somerset, Wis.
The School District of Somerset notified police that a student told a St. Anne's teacher of the threat. A lockdown was ordered for all schools in the district, and officers began by searching the elementary school before moving on to the other two schools.
Instruction continued as usual in all three schools while the lockdown was in place, Somerset School District Administrator Randy Rosburg said.
"We will run as normal of a school day, inside our schools, in all three schools for the remainder of the day," Rosburg said in a lockdown update. "We are taking this threat very seriously."
The suspect was not found on school property, but was identified using security procedures of the school district, according to a news release. The New Richmond Police Department ultimately helped locate Andrew Joseph Robert Wallace, 20, who has refused to comment on the incident.
Wallace was brought to St. Croix County Jail and charged with disorderly conduct.
