GRAYSLAKE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are searching for the person who called in a bomb threat to a north suburban school Thursday morning, prompting an evacuation.

Clearbrook, a facility for disabled adults inside Gages Lake School at 18180 W. Gages Lake Rd. in Grayslake, was evacuated at 9:45 a.m. after the bomb threat, Lake County Sheriff's office spokeswoman Sgt. Sara Balmes said.

The students were bused from Gages Lake School to the nearby Special Education District of Lake County. Other schools on the campus were put on lockdown, the statement said.

The threat was made by phone to the receptionist at Clearbrook about 9:30 a.m., according to SEDOL Supt. Thomas Moline.

The school's liaison officer, a sheriff's deputy, managed the threat and searched the Clearbrook building along with sheriff's police, Moline said.

A search for the bomb turned up nothing, and the students were bused back and resumed normal activities as of 11 a.m., the statement said.

"I've not had any reports of any suspects at this point," Moline said.

The sheriff's office is investigating.
