Cooking Mom Amy Hanten shows you how to make two of her favorite holiday recipes that make perfect gifts and perfect additions to your pantry all winter long.
CHAI LATTE MIX
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
2 cups powdered non-dairy creamer
1 package (3.5 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweetened plain instant tea
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a very large bowl. Blend this mixture, one cup at a time in a blender or food processor until it's a fine powder. Stir 2 rounded tablespoons of mix into a mug of very hot water. Makes about 40 servings.
I admit it! I love going out for coffee or Chai, but it can really add up! Thanks again Jenn for this homemade Chai mix recipe. Makes a great gift too!
HOT COCOA MIX
3 cups Nestle's Quick
8 cups instant dry milk
8 ounces powdered coffee creamer
1/2 cup powdered sugar (or to taste)
2/3 cups Hershey Cocoa
Blend all ingredients in a large bowl. To mix a cup, fill your cup with about 1/2 Hot Cocoa Mix and half hot water or to taste.
This makes a fun holiday gift! Just put it in a jar with a label and instructions attached. Make sure to make a batch or two for you too. The kids love it with marshmallows or whipped cream on top!
