CHISAGO CITY, Minn. (KMSP) -

A Chisago County grand jury has indicted Aaron Schnagl on charges of third-degree murder in the death of Danielle Jelinek.

The indictment accuses Schnagl of giving drugs to Jelinek, which ultimately led to her death.

Jelinek was reported missing on Dec. 9, 2012. Her body was recovered on May 10, 2013 from a lake approximately 200 yards away from Schnagl's home in Chisago Lakes Township – the place she was last seen.

Schnagl had been a "person of interest" in the case, and the two had an on-again, off-again relationship. Schnagl was the last person to see Danielle Jelinek alive and said the two were intimate the night of her disappearance.

Schnagl, 29, has been in custody since Jelinek's disappearance and has been serving a prison sentence on drug charges.
