CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 64-year-old man was found dead in a car early Saturday after his vehicle crashed into a storefront in the North Park neighborhood on the North Side.

Rescue crews found the man unresponsive in the driver's seat of a 1995 Cadillac about 1 a.m. in the 6200 block of North Pulaski Road, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

He was the only person in the car and no one was in the store at the time of the one-vehicle crash, Greer said.

Jose Vidal, of the 6200 block of North Mozart Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:18 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known as Area North detectives investigated.
