When the Gophers travel to Texas to face Syracuse in the Texas Bowl, they will be returning with a little more than they arrived with. NCAA rules prohibits the payment of any kind to student athletes. I couldn't even buy any of the guys lunch, but when it comes to bowl games, the rules change.
The NCAA allows each bowl to award up to $550 in gifts to participants of the school. In addition to the high-tech electronics and jewelry is a home theater recliner that boasts a pair of USB ports that can charge mobile devices. The gifts vary by bowl game and we thought we'd give you an idea of what the ahem "student athletes" will be bringing home.
