BRAIDWOOD, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A west suburban Franklin Park man was charged with felony possession of marijuana more than 30 grams after Braidwood police on Thursday allegedly found a dozen plastic bags of the drug in his vehicle, the Joliet Herald News is reporting.

A Braidwood police officer observed and stopped a silver Honda Civic with no rear registration plate light as it was southbound on Interstate 55 near mile marker 235, according to a news release from Braidwood police.

The driver, Isidro Cano, was charged with driving with no valid driver's license, police said. During a search of the vehicle, a multicolored duffel bag was discovered in the trunk, and inside were three one-gallon bags of a green leafy substance, police said. Nine one-gallon bags of a green leafy substance were also discovered in the spare tire compartment, police said.

The total street value of the marijuana was placed at about $65,000, police said.

Cano also was issued a traffic citation for no rear registration plate light and was taken to the Will County jail, police said. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
