MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Our next winter storm has arrived with light snow persisting through the day today in the metro and points south and east with the snow slowly tapering off in the evening hours.

Two to 4 inches may blanket the metro Sunday with a higher concentration in southeast Minnesota -- 5 or 6 inches are possible in that area.

Winds will be light through Sunday but will pick up overnight and through the day Monday which could lead to some blowing snow issues through the day. Frigid wind chills will accompany those winds on Monday with Wind Chill Advisories in effect for much of northern and western Minnesota.

SNOW TIMELINE

Sunday morning: Light snow falling with accumulations approaching and ½ inch.

Sunday afternoon: Light snow falling, 2 to 4 inches total in the metro with 5 to 6 inches south and southeast of the metro.

Monday: Breezy and colder with highs back to the low single digits. Blowing snow possible.

DRIVE SAFE

Prepare to drive on snow-covered roads with limited visibility as the wind picks up.
