Chicago's Most Wanted: Shady Bandit

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A Chicago woman has developed a shady reputation with the FBI, and has also proven to be difficult to find after a series of bank robberies.

This week's Chicago's Most Wanted is known as the Shady Bandit, due to her penchant for wearing sunglasses during her three holdups.

According to the FBI this bank robber has struck three TCF Bank locations over the last six months.

The FBI said she committed her first robbery on April 26, 2013 at the TCF Bank branch located at 5343 North Broadway. She entered the bank, announced the robbery and left the bank after getting an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller.

Less than a month later she robbed another TCF Bank, this one at 3531 North Broadway, with the same style. She walked in, handed the teller a note announcing the robbery and left with the cash.

The FBI said six months passed before she hit another bank. Her third robbery took place at the same TCF as her previous crime, 3531 North Broadway.

Bank robbers will often operate in areas that they are familiar with, so it is possible that she may live up by the North Broadway corridor. However, as many buses and trains travel to that area it is also possible that she uses public transportation to get to the bank.

While there are security cameras located at the banks, the FBI has been unable to gather any images of the woman leaving and is asking for the communities help in locating the woman.

The FBI is offering a reward for information that helps it identify and arrest this woman.

Here is the FBI's description of the robber:

-- African American Female

-- Dark skin

-- Approximately 35 years

-- Wore sunglasses and hats during robberies

-- Wore dark winter coat with a hood with fake fur

She is considered a danger to the community, if you see her you are asked to call police or the FBI.
