Minn. 7th grader suffers deadly heart attack during basketball game

A 7th grade student from Grand Rapids, Minn. died at the hospital Thursday after suffering a heart attack during a basketball game.

According to the Brainerd Dispatch, emergency responders were called to Forestview Middle School in Baxter, Minn. at 4:33 p.m. Thursday on a report of a 12-year-old boy who collapsed during the basketball game.

The boy was rushed to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minn., where he later died.

The Ramsey County medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The name of the student was not released.
