Nelson Mandela once visited Detroit and spoke to thousands at Tiger Stadium. Many still have vivid memories of that day.

The former press secretary to Mayor Coleman Young says "that was truly a night that everybody was unified."

Rev. Wendell Anthony also remembers that experience as the emcee for The Freedom Tour and says you could have cut the air with a knife during the moments when Mandela spoke.
