UPDATED FRIDAY: Meteorologist Steve Frazier

For parts of the state of Minnesota the wind chill advisory has been upgraded to a wind chill warning. Look for wind chill values to be as low as -45° in parts or West Central and Northwestern MN. The wind chill advisory and warning will be through noon Saturday.

Below is a timeline of just how cold those wind chills will be in the metro through most of Saturday.

Bundle up and stay warm. Frazier

The snow is gone and now the cold has settled in on the Upper Midwest. The combination of frigid temperatures and a brisk wind will take windchill values down to about 30 degrees below zero.

The National Weather Service has issued a WIND CHILL ADVISORY until noon Saturday for almost all of Minnesota and parts of Western Wisconsin.

When we have wind chill values as low as -30°, frost bite can set in on exposed skin in about 15 minutes. Hypothermia, when the body loses heat faster than it makes it, can also set in these extreme conditions. Dress in layers and cover all exposed skin. Highs will only be in the singles digits through Saturday. Stay warm everyone.
