The remains of two children have been recovered from the scene of a house fire in rural Lucan, Minn. -- a southwestern Minnesota town just east of Marshall.

The fire at the two-story farmhouse was reported by the homeowners at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday. Two adults and several children were able to escape without injuries, but two children were reported missing.

The remains of one of the missing children were found late Wednesday night, and the second was recovered on Thursday afternoon.

The victims' identities will be released by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Neal Hansen, a firefighter with Vesta Fire Department, remains in a Mankato hospital after he slipped on the ice and was struck by a tanker truck.
