Minneapolis police are asking the public to help them locate a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred over the weekend at a bus stop on University Avenue.
Police say a man, who was not affiliated with the University of Minnesota, was waiting at the bus stop in front of University Village, located between 25th and 26th avenues on University Avenue, when he was approached by two suspects who asked him for the time at about 8:45 p.m.
According to police, one of the suspects then displayed a handgun, demanded the victim surrender his belongings and punched him in the face. Officers say the victim was not seriously injured.
The suspects took the victim's wallet, cell phone and backpack before running along 25th Avenue and east on Delaware Street. No arrests have been made.
Minneapolis police say the man who brandished the handgun was described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 30 with a medium complexion and standing about 6 feet tall with a heavy build.
The man with the gun was last seen wearing a multi-colored jacket of green, red and orange and a black stocking cap.
