ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

St. Paul police have made an arrest in last weekend's hit-and-run crash that left two University of St. Thomas students in critical condition.

Latocha Thomas, 40, of St. Paul is accused of hitting the two students as they exited a cab on Grand Avenue early Sunday morning, Nov. 24. Police said she never stopped after the accident.

22-year-old Nick Bergeland of Wayzata and 22-year-old Rebekka Peterson of Farmington had been returning from the Dinkytown area at about 2:30 a.m. Three of their friends were still inside the taxi at the time of the crash and were not injured.

Investigators found the gray 2013 Mazda involved in the crash about a mile from the scene last Sunday afternoon, saying it was "obvious" the car was involved in the crash that left its side mirror behind.
