Anyone who attended the Aegis Foundation's first annual homeless youth Thanksgiving dinner left with a warm meal and a handful of free goods.
Aria and Hennepin County Medical Center joined forces with the Aegis Foundation with a goal of feeding 400 people. The hospital's executive chef cooked up a traditional meal.
"I've never had to be in a position where I went to participate in a program like this, I've always been on the other side, serving food and helping people, but I've never been the one to receive it," said Hassan Abdul-Basir.
A small donation of $12.50 provided a dinner for one at this event.
The Aegis foundation hopes to get the word out a little earlier next year to help even more people.
