Thieves target cars at Cherokee County daycare

Posted: Updated:
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -

Police are searching for thieves who broke into cars while parents dropped their children off at a daycare center in Cherokee County earlier this week.

Thieves stole purses and other items from three vehicles as the parents were inside the Little Red School House on Univeter Road in Canton.

Authorities hope surveillance footage from a Sandy Springs Target could lead them to the suspects. Police believe the suspects used stolen credit cards at the store, which is located on Roswell Road.

Cherokee County Sheriff's detectives are investigating to see if the thefts are part of an organized ring.

Police said the thieves targeted cars where valuables were left in plain view. They remind people to not leave  purses, phones and other valuables in unattended vehicles.
