Each week, Fox 9 relationship expert Adrienne Laursen, licensed marriage and family therapist, tackles your toughest questions in a segment called "Ask Adrienne."
This week, the Engagement Coach talks holiday time constraints, an ill-fitting boyfriend who won't come home for the holidays and tumultuous extended family dynamics.
STRESSES OF A FULL-TIME WORKING MOM
1. As a full-time working mom of three, I feel a lot of pressure to get everything done this holiday season. Do you have any tips for dealing with the stress of buying gifts, cooking, family get-togethers, etc., so I don't have to feel so overwhelmed and I too can enjoy this time of year?
MY BOYFRIEND WON'T JOIN ME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
2. My family is really fun and I love being with them, but my boyfriend doesn't seem to fit in. He's refusing to join me for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I'm embarrassed to show up without him. He won't even discuss compromising so what can I do?
MY WIFE IS STRESSED ABOUT OUR FAMILIES
3. I love my wife, but she gets very stressed out from October through December, due to the anticipation of being around our not-so-healthy families. What can I do to help her feel less anxious and stressed out so we can enjoy the holidays together and actually have some fun?
