UAW Ford, Clear Channel Radio to offer free turkeys to families in need

UAW-Ford along with Clear Channel Communications are teaming up to help local families who are looking for a little relief this holiday season.

One thousand deserving families will receive a Thanksgiving turkey on Tuesday November 26, 2013. Families in need, especially seniors and single parent households, are welcome to pick up a complimentary turkey from any of the three area locations:

Dave Miller Building

Detroit, MI
6:00 a.m. - 10 a.m.

Highland Park Fire Station
26 Gerald Street
Highland Park, MI
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Soaring Eagles Ministries
18750 Sawyer
Detroit, MI
3:00 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Over one hundred volunteers from the UAW-Ford membership will be on hand to assist with distribution of the turkeys. "I can't think of any better way to show our gratitude to our communities then helping make Thanksgiving more enjoyable for the less fortunate," said Ford vice president of labor relations, Marty Mulloy.

Also on Tuesday, HYPE Athletics Community will host its 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway which will feed 250 Metro Detroit families. The event will be hosted from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the HYPE Recreation Center located at 23302 West Warren Avenue in Dearborn Heights, MI 48127.
